20. června 2025 (Světový den uprchlíků*ic) uspořádal Arbeitskreis Ostviertel e.V. (Bennohaus, Münster) mezinárodní webinář s názvem „Migrace a začleňování: místní politiky a inspirativní příběhy“. Akce proběhla v rámci projektu Erasmus+ Community Re-Awaken: Nástroje a techniky pro odolné a inkluzivní mládežnické komunity.
Webinář propojil organizace občanské společnosti, pedagogy*žky, pracovníky*ce s mládeží a komunitní lídry*ně z Německa, Severní Makedonie a České republiky. Společně sdíleli*y zkušenosti a diskutovali*y o klíčových otázkách souvisejících s migrací, integrací, inkluzí a občanskou politikou.
Hlavním cílem bylo srovnat, jak jednotlivé partnerské země s migrací pracují. Účastníci*ice probírali*y rozdíly v legislativních rámcích, právních požadavcích a přístupu k informacím – a zároveň zjistili*y, že mnohé výzvy jsou společné.
Německý kontext
Z německé strany byly představeny nedávné reformy:
- Zákon o kvalifikované migraci (Fachkräfteeinwanderungsgesetz, FEG)
- Nová pravidla umožňující vícenásobné občanství
- Vylepšené podmínky pro slučování rodin
Cílem těchto změn je zjednodušit imigrační a naturalizační procesy. Účastníci však upozornili*y, že stále chybí dostatečná právní jasnost, transparentnost a metodická podpora. Zdůraznili*y potřebu poradenských služeb a centrální vícejazyčné informační platformy pro nově příchozí, stejně jako psychologické podpory.
Hlavní moment: Hidden Hero
Silným bodem programu byla prezentace novináře Eliase Hatimiho, bývalého stážisty CrossCulture v Bennohausu. Představil svůj mediální projekt Hidden Hero, který sdílí životní příběhy afghánských migrantů a uprchlíků v Německu.
Tento projekt dává hlas lidem, kteří bývají redukováni na stereotypy nebo přehlíženi ve veřejné debatě. Elias zdůraznil rozmanitost migračních zkušeností – od profesních přesuny a vzdělávání po útěky před perzekucí nebo znovusjednocení rodin.
Projekt tak nejen posiluje neviditelné hlasy, ale také přispívá k empatii, dialogu a začleňování v hostitelských komunitách.
Migrační a integrační strategie Münsteru 2025–2030
Dalším bodem programu byla prezentace Mise města Münster v oblasti migrace a integrace. Na její tvorbě se po dobu dvou let podílelo více než 400 jednotlivců a 130 organizací. Strategie vytyčuje vizi inkluzivní, rozmanité a participativní městské společnosti.
Základní principy:
- integrace jako průřezová odpovědnost všech sektorů města
- boj proti diskriminaci, rovná účast a interkulturní otevřenost
- přechod od symbolických cílů k měřitelnému sociálnímu dopadu
Hlavní oblasti zahrnují vzdělávání, péči o mládež, bydlení, pracovní trh, přístup ke zdravotní péči, občanskou angažovanost a interkulturní fungování veřejné správy.
Velký důraz byl kladen na psychologický rozměr integrace. Účastníci poukázali na traumata, jazykové bariéry a kulturní adaptaci jako procesy, které vyžadují čas. Zdůraznili*y, že začlenění není jen otázkou politik a legislativy, ale i podpůrných struktur, budování důvěry a mezilidského kontaktu.
Společné cíle a výzvy
Navzdory odlišným kontextům našli*y partneři*ky společné body:
- potřeba srozumitelných a dostupných informací pro nově příchozí
- význam interkulturní práce s mládeží a neformálního vzdělávání
- obtížné oslovování marginalizovaných skupin a tvorba programů podle skutečných potřeb
- výzva, jak podporovat skutečné sociální mísení
Projekty jako Community Re-Awaken ukazují, že evropská spolupráce a lokální iniciativy mohou překlenovat mezery, posilovat inovace a inspirovat systémové změny.
Závěrečné myšlenky
Migrace není „problémem k překonání“, ale sociální realitou, kterou lze spoluutvářet s empatií, jasností a spoluprací.
Sdílením příběhů, otevřenou diskusí a kolektivní akcí můžeme vytvářet komunity, kde lidé nejen přicházejí, ale jsou i vybaveni a posíleni pro svou budoucnost.

Reflections on Migration, Inclusion & Policy: Community Re-Awaken Webinar Recap
On June 20th, 2025 (World Refugee Day), the Arbeitskreis Ostviertel e.V. (Bennohaus,
Münster) hosted an international webinar titled “Migration & Inclusion: Local Policies and
Inspirational Stories” as part of the Erasmus+ project Community Re-Awaken: Tools and
Techniques for Resilient and Inclusive Youth Communities.
The event brought together civil society organizations, educators, youth workers, and
community leaders from Germany, North Macedonia, and the Czech Republic to exchange
ideas and discuss key issues related to migration, integration, inclusion, and citizenship policy.
One of the main goals of the webinar was to provide a comparative look at how migration is
handled across the three partner countries. The differences in policy frameworks, legal
requirements, and access to information were examined – many of the same challenges were
shared.
From the German side, participants explored recent reforms such as:
● The Skilled Immigration Act (Fachkräfteeinwanderungsgesetz, FEG)
● New multiple citizenship allowances
● Improved regulations for family reunification
These changes aim to streamline immigration and naturalization processes, but participants
also acknowledged that legal clarity, transparency, and guidance are still lacking. The webinar
participants acknowledged the need for additional advisory services and a centralized,
multilingual information platform for newcomers as well as psychological support.
Highlight: Hidden Hero
A moving centerpiece of the event was a presentation by Elias Hatimi, journalist and former
CrossCulture intern at Bennohaus, who introduced his ongoing media project Hidden Hero.
The project shares real-life stories of Afghan migrants and refugees in Germany. These
individuals may often be reduced to stereotypes or overlooked in public discourse. By giving
them space to speak for themselves, Elias highlights the complexity of migration experiences:
from professional relocation and education to escaping persecution or reconnecting with family.
The project not only elevates unheard voices but also serves as a powerful tool for fostering
empathy, dialogue, and inclusion within host communities.
The Münster Mission Statement
The webinar also featured a presentation of the City of Münster’s Migration and Integration
Mission Statement 2025–2030. Developed over two years with the input of 400+ individuals and
130+ organizations, the strategy outlines a vision for an inclusive, diverse, and participatory
urban society.
Its core principles include:
● Cross-cutting integration as a responsibility of all city sectors
● Anti-discrimination, equal participation, and intercultural openness
● A shift from symbolic goals to measurable social impact
Key focus areas of the Münster Mission Statement range from education, youth welfare, and
housing to labor market integration, health care access, civic engagement, and intercultural
administration practices.
One of the most important insights from the discussion was the psychological dimension of
integration. The participants of the webinar addressed mental health aspects of migration, real-
life needs, and the barriers that go beyond policy. Representatives from Germany and the
Czech Republic agreed:
“Not everyone can contribute immediately. Trauma, language barriers, and cultural
adjustment take time.”
Traumatic experiences, disorientation, and structural barriers make it clear that psychosocial
support and human contact are just as important as legal regulations. Participants emphasized
that inclusion requires not only good policy frameworks, but also emotional support structures,
trust-building, and community-level outreach. This means that governments and civil society
must recognize that integration is a long-term, human and societal process – not just an
administrative one.
Shared Goals, Shared Challenges
Despite the variety in national contexts, the partners found common ground in several areas:
● The need for clear, accessible information for newcomers
● The importance of intercultural youth work and informal education
● Difficulties in reaching marginalized groups and designing programs based on real
needs
● The challenge of fostering genuine social mixing
Projects like Community Re-Awaken demonstrate how European collaboration and grassroots
initiatives can help bridge gaps, amplify local innovation, and inspire systemic change.
Final Thoughts
Migration is not a “challenge” to be overcome, but a social reality that we can shape together
with compassion, clarity, and cooperation.
Through shared stories, informed discourse, and collective action, we can build communities
and spaces where people not only arrive but are also equipped and empowered for the future.
