At the end of July, we met for the first time at Káznice as part of the storytelling strand of the BRIDGE project. This time, it wasn’t a workshop yet, but rather an opportunity to get to know each other, talk, and share our first small stories.
And we started with something almost everyone can relate to – birthdays. How are birthdays celebrated in Ukraine and how in the Czech Republic? What can’t be missing from a birthday celebration? Which traditions do we bring with us, and which new ones are we gradually discovering?
Different experiences, memories, and ways of celebrating came together around one table. It was also the first opportunity for our group of young people from Ukraine to meet Dominika, who will be accompanying us in our work with stories over the coming months.
This is exactly how we want to continue with BRIDGE – starting with everyday experiences and topics brought by the people themselves, and gradually exploring together the stories they want to tell and share.
